April 15 – 3 project ideas and team choice due (project ideas may change, but you will need to notify me of any changes)
The journal will be an ongoing part of the project, you will be required to turn in typed journal entries on the dates below.
Journal 1 (due by April 22) -What is your project idea? Why did you choose this project? What other ideas did you consider? What background knowledge did you have on this topic? What is your initial hypotheses? What will you need to know or learn in order to be successful?
Journal 2 (due by May 6) - locate a scholarly article that relates to your project. Post a link to the the article and provide a brief summary and reflection.
Journal 3 (due by May 13) - describe your data collection, and provide an update on your work on the project
During the week of May 20-22 groups will present their final project. Below are the requirements for your final project presentation. You may use your creativity in how you present each piece of information - you may use a video, podcast, photostory, or other format.
Completed Abstract page that includes the objectives and goals of your project (identify the problem and state your hypothesis) as well as a description of the methods and materials you will use to conduct your research. Completed Results page that includes notes, diagrams, spreadsheets or other information generated from your experiment.**
A description of the conclusions you and your team were able to draw from the experiment. Include a description of your results, ways you could improve the experiment, and any further research that may be done to further test your ideas.
